Most of the time, you'd only need a single roll for the immediate task,
though. If you want to determine how well the character conveys the emotion
of the dance, you roll Charisma+Dance. If you want to lift your partner,
Strength+Dance. For regular skill use, you probably don't need the detail of
multiple rolls for a single task.
And when you do need that extra detail, you're probably in a situation
analogous to dramatic skill resolution. While dramatic skill resolution
might not be a completely appropriate mechanic to something like dance
performance (it's race-like structure strikes me as a little out) Torg
definitely encourages the use of multiple rolls for a single activity when a
lot hinges on that activity. Some variant of dramatic skill resolution might
be appropriate, or just making four rolls, but whatever you do, I wouldn't
say that multiple rolls is really a problem in Torg - or if it is, there's
another big chunk of the rules you probably shouldn't be using.
