[Torg] Weapons and long range contradictions

Hello all,

Last session, a question was raised regarding long range contradictions
and ranged weapons. Specifically, laser weapons.

To be brief: Do laser weapons require long range contradiction checks to
work in realities that do not support them?

Projectile weapons do not, at least as long as the local reality
supports the concept "small object moving quickly causes damage to
things it hits". The firing mechanism that causes the object to move
quickly is a part of the tool held by the user, and does not require
long range contradictions.

But for realities where the concept "small beam of focused light hurts a
lot worse" is not supported, lasers should probably require a check. Right?

things about gospogs, gospog seeds, and why they appear in other
realities as well...)
