Yes I believe you are mistaken. There is a contradiction in that the
living and the unliving do not have an ability to maintain various
'higher-technology' items.. be it high tensile steel, various polymers
etc.. these slowly get devolved and break down.

The Living Land has an additional thing of the Mist eating away at
things that are not Living.
