I prefer to put it slightly differently, even if the book does not, for the
purpose of clarity.

Actions can produce contradictions.
Products can be contradictory.

This is in order to point out that there is a distinct game mechanical
difference between passively-existing products which violate local reality
(which have a very small chance of transforming in a short period of time)
and actions which violate local reality (which have a much larger, though
arguably still small, chance of inciting disconnection in a short period of
time).

(Note that I'm not advocating any change to rules. I just like to use
terminology that emphasises the existing rules.)

Posts subsequent to Jim's are making it clear that not everyone has spotted
this distinction.
