That's what I was thinking, initially it seemed Orrorshan but it's
too obvious. My idea was that some of the spider-like critters from
the Living Land somehow ended up in Texas and have thrived in the
locale. The writeup for the skroche even notes that its webs are large
enough to be spun between trees.

Maybe the recent reports from Texas about chupacabra corpses being
found are related, another Living Land critter that somehow ended up
in the Lone Star State? Or maybe this one is actually something more
sinister....
