[Torg] Another explosives question (full inquiry)

Thanks for the input. I am also interested in what the official by the book
answer would if anyone knows - or does the book not cover this?

Let's use a slightly different scenario, same soldier with a grenade walks
into a mob of zombies and detonates the bomb - still no random roll?
Personally, I thought the by the book answer is that even if you do not need
a to hit roll, even if a dodge is not possible for your target, you would
still roll a die to generate a Bonus Number for the effect.

Because if you are not allowed to do that, how does the player make the big
boom happen that takes out all the bad guys without involving his
possibilities to get a larger roll and BN, if no roll is happening? How can
players use this possibility energy to do more damage and have a bigger on
screen moment if they are not allowed to roll?

Kansas Jim, everyone, what's the official answer? And what are your
opinions as well? (Need the former more than the latter, but want both,
grin)
