I have Car Wars, and it is played every now and then (although it was 
some time since the last game now). I have tiny toy cars (MicroMachines 
for those who know them) as playing pieces, which works great using a 
scaled up turn key. For terrain, we use our Warhammer terrain (the 
pieces that are not to a specific scale, like hills and forests).
