True, but not a good example, because Superman has super-strength (and
generally used that to perform his great leaps, not simply running really
fast off an incline).

Strength really should be a pretty big factor in jumping, as leg strength is
where we get our initial vertical velocity. Having a nice, high horizontal
velocity (that is, running fast) also helps, but jumpers generally can't get
their full running speed at an optimum 45deg angle to the ground.
