I don't see any way that a lack of ability to leap huge distances can be
reasonably regarded as punishing a character for his superpower. Nobody has
suggested that a speedster's running ability be so limited that he jumps
*less* distance than he would without the superpower.

At worst it is a glitch in physics that presents a barrier to
verisimilitude, not a punishment of the character (or the player playing
that character).
