I think you did.  I asked these questions to see if I read it 
correctly.  On page 212 of the RE it states.

"A spell that is impressed in an area with an axiom level lower
than 17 requires a contradiction check; when the impressed effect
is released, use the non-parenthetical number as its axiom level.
The (17) in the entry is there as a reminder of the impressed axiom
level."

So since Telekinesis Major has an axiom of 6(17).  The act of casting 
it uses the axiom of 17 to impress it but uses the axiom of 6 to 
release the effect.  At lest that is what I am understanding from the 
above quote.  So  casting this spell in TK would result in a 
Four-Case check.  But the releasing of the effect would not since 
that has an axiom of 6.
