They're... okay. The Tharkold Sourcebook makes more sense once you read the comics. If you were wondering who some of those "Why are they telling me about these NPCs?" in the NPC/monster section are.

And the Islamic Dark Avenger/Nile Empire character is pretty cool.

Then again, there are parts that I still find unintelligible even after several readings...
