Quin is bitten by a rattlesnake, with its powerful neurotoxin.
He makes an immediate TOU roll against the duration of 28 to see
how long it affects him. Generating a bonus of +1 on his TOU of
11, he will be affected by the venom for (38-12=26) about 40
hours. However, because his initial TOU roll was greater than
the venom Potence, he doesn't suffer any immediate ill-effects.

With a duration of 26 and virulence of 22, Quin will be affected
by the venom a total of six times (either 26-22, or 40 hours
duration divided by 6 hours virulence... not sure which is
best?)

After six hours, Quin is back in his camp, resting up for the
night. The GM asks him to generate a TOU total. A roll of 6
gives him a TOU total of (11-5=6), which is 4 RPs for the venom.
He takes 4 RPs of damage, which gives a result of 2 on the Power
Push table. Quin's DEX drops to 9.

Quin now realises he could be in trouble, and decides to make
for the nearest town to seek medical care. Unfortunately in the
rough terrain, it's going to take some time to get anywhere. Six
hours later, he's just found the main highway when he needs to
generate another bonus. He rolls 1! Quin decides to spend a
possibility, and comfortably exceeeds the difficulty. No more
damage this time.

Quin makes it to a local medical centre before the next attack
of the poison. With a course of antivenom giving him +5 to TOU
rolls, he suffers no more ill effects. He now generates a final
TOU total to see how long the damage to his DEX will last. With
a roll of 15, and a +5 for the medical treatment, Quin generates
a total of 18. The GM compares this to the Recovery difficulty
of 40, and declares that, thanks to the medical intervention,
Quin will be fully recovered in just 6 hours.
