One doesn't normally like to disagree with KJ, but I do think this gives too much mysticism to hypnosis. The act of hypnosis is certainly a tool which has been developed over the years, but it takes advantage of an inherent feature of human biology/psychology. To me, the parallel is injecting a snake venom using a hypodermic. The hypodermic is contradictory in certain cosms, but the poison will not be and if successfully injected it will take effect. So too with a post-hypnotic suggestion.
