[Torg] an idea about the Drama Deck(s)

That's an elegant solution. I actually love this idea of Jim's - yes, it's a lot of cards, but if you've got a regular, full-on game of Torg going this will
really help to further reinforce different realities. You can even tailor things like Action cards to be +2 or +4, and also skew initiative lines (or blank them out if a particular column doesn't use them). The more I think about it, the more I think this is a genius idea.
And had WEG published separate cosm drama decks back in the 90s, I can guarantee I'd have bought one set of every one. Gotta love collectables to drive extra profit out of RPG lines :-)
Subplots work at the narrative level, which in my view is at least one game level above the "operational" level at which the other cards operate. As such, their existence isn't influenced by changing realms. The frequency of them arising in the first place, of course, could vary (lots of Mistaken Identity in NT?) and how they actually come into affect in different realms will clearly be influenced by the cosm feel, but an existing subplot would not be directly changed.

my take on this would be that all of the decks cards are numbered from 1 to 150. all you do when leaving one cosm for another is trade in your nile cards (for example) for orrorshan cards of the same number. that way you would probably end up with cards that were similar but not all the same. and there is no reason why an action card couldnt be more powerful in one realm than another.
cheers, mark.
The other minor issue is with crossing cosms -- if a group plays one scene
in CE and then moves into NE, do they need to swap out all their in their
hands for new ones from the NE deck? Do subplots from one deck remain
active when another comes into play?
