Just to clear up the terminology, you can temporarily improve a target's
attitude towards you with Charm but the base attitude does not improve
unless you meet the conditions specified under "The Permanent Effect of
Charm" on p71 of the original rulebook.
The duration for a temporary improvement in attitude is to the end of
the current adventure. If the conditions for permanent effects have not
been met then attitudes will revert to the base level for the next
adventure. This is not explicitly stated in the rulebook, it's vaguely
alluded to by the permanent change rules. I think WEG may have clarified
it in an issue of Infiniverse but I don't remember for certain.
