<shrug> I really don't see it as all that big of a deal. I'm not doing
it because I feel some great need to depower PCs or balance the NPCs,
I do it because it simplifies the process and speeds up game play a
little bit.

Then how would I reflect a character actively resisting whatever it is
the other character is trying to convince them to do?
