[Torg] New Basic Skills

And I don't disagree that it is what members of police or military forces
are trained to do. However, I think it is more like a change in how you
would operate at the base level, rather than how you would actively handle
something. I, myself, can think of examples right now using just the police
mentioned above that would warrant the use of evidence analysis to generate
the result you want, a use of find to generate the result you want, and the
use of perception to generate the result you want. They all have their place
and they are all different.

But to change something that should be passive with the use of a skill,
which implies it is an active process doesn't make sense. There isn't really
a skill you can work to develop that lets you realize more easily that
something is wrong with a room you walk into for the first time. It is how
you perceive the world in general that would allow you to do it. And while I
haven't had the experience of witnessing anyone raise their attributes in
the group I run with, I am under the impression (and could be quite wrong)
that people generally pass on increasing them over the course of a campaign,
and that is why people look to skills for things that may or may not be
better suited as a stat check, given it is cheaper and easier to make a
skill and increase its adds than increase your stats.

Chris
Looking forward to having the possibilities to increase the spirit of my new
character.
