I remember running into that once. I think what I went with was to
borrow from the healing rules so instead of generating a Toughness
total with your Toughness as the DV (the DV for a single Wound) you
generated a Mind total against your Mind as the DV but the discipline
gave you a +2 bonus.

I didn't really like that though as brewing potions didn't strike me as
an appropriate application of ki to count as a Major Discipline. So for
my first rewrite of MA I changed Healing to require a period of
meditation during which the martial artist channeled his ki into
accelerating his healing process and after a couple of hours of
meditation he healed one Wound level.
