That was Travis' comment.

I merely noted that maintaining Pure Zones after the five year mark is described as being mildly detrimental to the Darkness Device, since they're "paying" to maintain the stelae but are no longer getting energy from the zone. That's from what the first Omni issue of Infiniverse stated.

As was brought up, there are two types of Pure Zones: natural and "unnatural" ones. Ones that exist in a cosm (such as on Core Earth prior to the invasion, and in many cases) and those created by an invading reality and through the use of reality mechanics: stelae and maelstrom bridges. (And noting that the Living Land SB reference that Takta Ker was conquered using stelae is ncorrect.)

For "unnatural" pure zones, this same combination of mechanics sometimes doesn't create a pure zone. So the Scotland maelstrom bridge area is pure, but the Oxford one isn't.

So we're back to the question, are other cosms a roughly 50/50 mix of pure and dominant zones, as the original rules state, or are they entirely pure?

>From a GM point of view :) , I'd prefer that they be pure/dominant in mixes close to Core Earth. Just as Core Earth would be a boring place to adventure for non-Core Earthers if it was 90%+ pure, adventuring on Aysle of Marketplace would be boring if they were 90%+ pure.

Or youi avoid adventuring in other cosms. Althugh that means a lot of the Ravagon Sourcebook is kind of a waste except for non-important background material. :)
