I've tossed this idea around in my head, but I'm not 100% certain that
simply handing out a reduced number of Possibilities adequately balances
against their utility. Unless the GM hands out so few as to make them
largely irrelevant. But hey, at least it's an option.

Whoa, there, Tex. The discussion I jumped in was a what-if session with
the goal of brainstorming about ways this mechanic could function
differently from core Torg, and not a debate over who's opinion is
wrongeddy-wrong. You like the way Torg handles this, whereas I don't.
There's no way to *prove* that either of our subjective opinions are
right or wrong, so that's not really a discussion that would accomplish
anything. I'm interested in hearing about different ideas, not
defending my dislike for the current system or debating your approval of it.
So, again, without saying the mechanic in Torg today is objectively
*wrong* in any way, does anyone else have an idea about how it could be
done differently?
