I note that, naturally, he is working with a Chinese academic group. In my current game, the background is somewhat updated, and Japan's NipponTech is replaced by China's "ZhongTech." Not the most clever of names, certainly, but hey, good enough for me. The actual corporate names are different, of course; Kanawa is WongCorp. (chosen both for its historicity and the players' likely deliberate-mispronunciations as they learn more.) But the interest in stealth and misguidance is still there. Makes me wonder what ZhongTech is _really_ up to, nanotech-wise ... :)

My guess is that his 'breakthrough' work which is hard to duplicate
elsewhere is a limitation of Tech 23 (lab pushing 24?). Getting it to
actually produce functional nanomachines may actually be a 25 item.
[And yes flying cars and 'working fusion' as far as I can tell is Tech
25.]
