In a (very bad) episode of Sliders, an anti-fat bacteria, used as a cosmetic, made anyone who took it very thin. So thin, in fact, that they became fat-craving monsters who hunted other humans, to eat their fat. Those humans who were bitten became infected with the bacteria.
Yes, fat-eating zombies. It was exactly as bad as you'd think.
