[Torg] TORG Discussion on FATE RPG Yahoo Group

Aspects are, IMHO, a wonderfully elegant mechanic for figuring out what your
players want out of a game. If I tried to port them into TORG... well,
using possibilities for FATE points could work, but invoking an aspect for a
+2 might be either too weak or two strong in TORG. Probably would have to
playtest that.

Aspects would work VERY well with the Subplot Cards, though. :) The card
would just apply a temporary aspect to the Storm Knight that could be
invoked, tagged, or compelled.

For non-FATE savvy: Aspects are descriptive phrases that describe your
character. You can spend a point to invoke it (use it for a +2 to your die
roll or a re-roll), tag another character's aspect (for a +2 to your die
roll or a re-roll), or someone else (like the GM) can offer you a Fate point
to compel you to do something related to your aspect (which is how you earn
Fate points for later invokes and tags).

So, the aspect "I will defeat Pharaoh Mobius" could be invoked when you're
fighting the Pharaoh or his minions, or one of Mobius's minions might tag it
while fighting you in his throne room, saying that you're trying so hard to
reach the Pharaoh that you don't notice his attack. And if you're trying to
sneak a prisoner out of a pyramid, the GM could offer a compel by having
Pharaoh Mobius appear down a hallway. If you abandon sneaking out of the
pyramid and attack Mobius, you get a Fate point for later use.
