Their innate understanding of other realities allows Storm Knights to select one skill normally not native to their reality, and learn and use it as if it were native. The use of this skill isn’t a contradiction for the Storm Knight anywhere in Core Earth or in the reality it is native to. In other cosms, it is considered a 1-case contradiction (as the character supports it, but the land doesn’t).

> I see what you're saying. What I want to implement is the notion that p-rateds from Earth can learn one foreign SFX system and use it without contradiction. Decking, Weird Science, Ayslish Magic, Aylish Honor/Corruption, Nile Mathematics, Nile Engineering, Keta Kalles, Akashan Psionics, Tech 26 guns, whatever. Not every system, but the bulk of ones available.

First, apologizes if I've misremembered this.
Jasyn, I think recently someone suggested another way to give CEs more affinity with other cosms was to give a reconnection bonus. But I think you dismissed it. Maybe the reason was 'not enough color'?
But I think the solution has merit, especially as a rule that can be picked up and played immediately. Also as far as rules go, the bonus to reconnection is a small change which has consequences that are easy to determine. A completely new rule involving cross-cosm skill learning may introduce far-reaching problems (or god forbid new metaphysical arguments ;)) that at this point in time are difficult to determine.
And it's also a little preemptive to dismiss a reconnection bonus as colorless (if that is indeed was the reason). It's hard to know in what direction players will take a rule. I've had players living in fear of 4-case disconnection because of a high reconnection number. So it makes me think that CEs with a bonus to reconnection, may blithely pick up and use whatever is at hand, secure in the knowledge that should they disconnect, they can reconnect much easier. That can easily translate into roleplaying, as the CE wonders why the Aylish fighter doesn't want to use the plasma rifle in the LL.
"What do you mean if you disconnect you'll never be able to reconnnect? I've never had that problem."
