[Torg] Death Trance

Watched a 2005 Japanese martial arts movie called "Death Trance." It has some Torg elements to it. The setting appears to be a feudal Japan-like era, until someone pulls a gun and someone comes along on a motorcycle. So this could be a Nippon-Tharkold mixed zone, without the magic and tech; or even an Orrosh-Nippon zone. Different warriors are trying to bring a coffin (that looks right out of "Hellraiser"), obviously an Orrorsh device, to a gate which releases a Goddess of Destruction upon doing so. The Goddess of Destruction chops up a number of angels, and turns a beautiful landscape into a blasted environment.

The gate is more of a permanent dimthread, and the coffin is a prison as opposed to a Darkness Device. But when the Goddess comes out, the devastation is not unlike what I picture a cosm to be after a High Lord has sucked them dry. Those who try to steal the coffin through-out the movie end up becoming the various heroes, but only one really "awakes" to his Storm Knight potential. Can argue the warrior with the gun is a transplant from another cosm forcing a contrdiction (as he also produces a bazooka at one point).

The plot is weak, and mildly confusing, but the action and the scenery make up for it. It's available on NetFlix as an instant view.

Has anyone seen this, and have other thoughts on it?
